Monalisa Ngqisha is from Eastern Cape, South Africa and is a long-time activist with the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) and an outspoken leader in her community. She was the TAC representative at the World Social Forum in Kenya, where her leadership and engagement proved critical in achieving many of the positive outcomes at the Forum. She speaks from personal experience and gives a community level perspective on the issues around violence against women and the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
