Demonstration, Rally and Peace Concert

To mark the beginning of the 6th year of the war and occupation of Iraq.

1:00 – 2:00 Sidewalk Demonstration in Front of Main Street Park (Rtes 4/7) in Rutland. Bring signs, banners, drums, noise makers, puppets, your friends and family.

2:00 – 2:30 March down the West Street sidewalk to the UU Church of Rutland

2:30 – 4:00 Indoor Rally at the UU Church of Rutland, West Street, with speakers, music and poetry. Speakers include: Anthony Pollina, Progressive Party candidate for Governor; Tom Conroy, Veterans for Peace, and are youth. Music by Phil Henry, Bobby K and Matthew Kimball. Poetry by Cathy Salmons, of Studio Bliss.

4:00- 6:00pm Peace Concert featuring musical performances by The Hostiles, Spruce Knob Uprising and The Peace.

This event is being organized by SPARC and CVPJ. It is one of two major events being held in the state – the other one being organized by students and organizers in Burlington. We hope to attract peaceful citizens from around the state to our Rutland Demonstration and Rally. Please mark your calendars, spread the word, and help make this the largest demonstration in Rutland ever!

Participants are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to be donated to the Community Cupboard.
